How Skin Studio works

A character skin is one 64×64 image folded around a blocky body. Pick a body part, and the canvas shows that part unfolded — the six faces you can paint, labelled.

Skin / Hat — every part has a second, slightly larger outer layer. Use it for hair, armour, jackets and anything that should stick out. Erased pixels there are see-through.
Pencil, Eraser, Fill, Pick — B, E, G, I. Fill stops at the edge of the face you clicked.
Mirror — paints the same pixel on both halves of a face. Faces come out symmetrical without the fiddling.
Undo / Redo — Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z.
Zoom — scroll wheel, the +/− buttons, or pinch with two fingers. Two fingers also drag the canvas around; on a mouse, hold Space or the middle button.
Body parts — 1 to 6. Left and right are the character's own, so the right arm is on your left when it faces you.

Your work saves itself in this browser, so you can close the tab and come back. When it looks right, hit Download PNG and upload the file wherever you use it.
